Polaroid and 16 Film mn Forever !

Even if Polaroid have discontinuing their film production,
all around the globe Polaroid's Lovers keep fighting for it's preservation.
I wrote a post about it before.

Has a child of the late 70's, the polaroid camera is so
deeply related to my childhood memories.
it was just so easy and instantinated print.Of course, you could tell me, that today digital cameras are also easy to use and to share.
I would love to buy a digital camera with an integrated printer.

But there is something with this polaroid texture,
a sensation that i never get with digital photography.
I always favour imperfection.
This unique Imperfect process and graininess can’t be reached by the computer softwares.
Today, softwares and digital cameras provide our world with perfect images.
Faces and landscapes are altered to perfection ;
that is now sometimes too perfect to be true.
In that polaroid imperfection there was place for imagination.

Little Me in the 80's

SavePolaroid.com is launching a tee-shirt contest that celebrates the medium.

In, 1971 the SX-70 polaroid System is introduced to
american media and photo dealers with a short film
of designers Charles and Ray Eames.
This film was explaining the new SX-70 system.
One year later, SX-70 is sold out : magazines, newspapers and
the public can’t get enough of this work of wonder,
SX-70 revolutionized home photography .

I would like to share with you one of my Art Video.
I worked with some of my familly 16 mn films and i mixed it with other mediums.

In this Art Video :
Summer in L.A, i wanted to talk about people that today are gone.
I haven’t so much childhood memories, films and photographies help me not to loose my memories.
I have to confess that i am obsess by conservation, i am afraid to forget.
Vaniting memories and lost feelings.
But by working on this Art video,
I will never forget them:
i still have a film of them where I can see them move.

« They are on this film and i can see them ».
Hope you will Enjoy it.

I want sequin! More about Paris S/S 2009 fashion shows

Just have a look of what caught my eyes during the last Paris Shows.

Since 1 year, i am beginning to really enjoy the clothes.
Now, Rykiel have a new clothes designer.
Even the shows are lovely and always funny,
models are dancing and smiling.

I just adore the large sparkling "Béret" (the classical parisian Hat) of this
last Sonia Rykiel Spring/Summer 2009 show.
I want it......badly....

And if you happen to be very rich-just think of me
and buy me this entire collection.
I bet that you will see again in the Fashion Mag editorials
the black sequin and the sheer transparent peach unitars of this show.

De Castelbajac

Mais oui, stylists have political concerns too.... The Obama Dress or the Obama cashmire pullover.
Aahh....Marketing,Luxe and now politic...
Just stay simple if you really are an Obama supporter - stay to the pin!

- I saw a lot of sparkling clothes on the catwalk.
A red sparkling dress at Yves Saint Laurent or a Glittered sweatshirt hoody at Andrea Crews.
I want some sparkling, strass but confortable this summer:  like a good hoody or a perfect Tee.

- A french brand Fade created by Olivier Bobin invited the press to see his show on a video.
It's all about Tees....
I just happen to like beautiful illustration on t-shirts.
I won't  miss  this next Fade t-shirts collection about mythology, symbolism and tarot cards.

- a little more fashion police:
Please don't torment yourself  with the Roitfield new super idea
of la "Roitfeld": the dangerous iron stiletto!

And i will not put the photo of the worst high heels of this last Paris show :
Galliano is the winner by KO.
See the Terror : Here on Imelda's blog.

M & Madame Rick Owens

Looking at the Street fashion blog during those S/S 2009 shows,
i noticed that with the new popularity of those blogs;
They were much more street hunters than before waiting outside the shows.
This was beginning to be simply harassement and greed.
About this new behaviour of the street fashion photographers;
i recommend you this post of Kamel's blog : Style and the City.

Paris fashion S/S 2009 Versus Economical panic

"A week of tumult in Washington that spread panic
throughout the world’s economies
ended last night with the US House of Representatives passing
the $700 billion rescue package amid emotional scenes on Capitol Hill."

"It will be truly magnificent. It's a massive 35-foot recreation of our famous 31 Rue Cambon.
Wait 'til you see it. It will be absolutely epic!"
Karl Lagerfeld

The american Senate approved a revised version of the bail-out plan last night.
But Paris fashion merry go round keeps turning on...

Photographs, journalists and buyers keep running from one decadent shows to another.
The starlets seated in the front row during the show are going crazy for the dresses.
But that's the way fashion goes....

I was wondering if writing about fashion today was proper or decent.

But after a stressing day, it's just a blessing to indulge myself withsuperficial and relaxing things
such has reading Coutorture website about the last fashion reports.

So, i will write today about the most immature subjects: the last gossips of the shows
and the clothes that caught my eyes.

Mc Queen-The scary rabbit

Mc Queen S/S 2009 -Where is the fashion police ?

Today, a fashion show has to be extravangant and marketed,
or there is little chance that magazines and fashion blogs will speak about it.

Galliano is the master of super Fashion shows.
Yesterday Mc Queen, who is also famous for his amazing shows,
went on the catwalk dressed has a rabbit and lucky him,
one of his model: Abbey Lee Kershaw faithed...
I never knew that modelling coud be a dangerous work ....

The fainted model

✓ Karl Lagerfeld, an other master of marketing,
want us to believed that Chanel can be young, trendy and Rock'roll.

Chanel ready-to-wear line with the show’s opening song,
“Our House,” a 1982 hit by the British band Madness.
(You may recall it: “…in the middle of our street…”)

The show, which took place in Paris’s Grand Palais, featured a set design
of an elegant building, which represented the “house of Chanel.”

Always well-merchandised, the runway included a white quilted guitar case
and, in another look, a Chanel guitar accompanied
a model in the Chanel version of a flamenco dress.

( this is just an advice..... )
Please don't ....
(if you ever want to become the next baby rocker girl)
buy this Guitar or
you won't be taken seriously.

The last silly gossip:
Panic on the catwalk!

Sacha Baron Cohen's gay Austrian fashion show presenter alter-ego: Bruno- is in Paris
and he's filming for his upcoming movie at Fashion Week.
Bruno crashes the catwalk during the Agatha Ruiz De La Prada Spring/Summer 2009 show.
Today, Cohen ( you remenber his last caracter: Borat) was able to get into Charles De Castelbajac show.
He started writing letters to the models, jumped on stage and walked down the catwalk.

I warned you, this post is just about silly news....

That's all for today's gossip; my internet connection is so bad tonight - I can't write ....

Tomorrow, i will show you the cutest "hat" ever made....
